Forbidden Planets closing down manga offer
« on: November 11, 2009, 05:20:48 PM »

If you don't know Forbidden Planet is about to close soon. Its long and complicated but the shop is on the verge of literaly disappearing, as quoted 'Gone in a week'.

However, they have whats left of their manga, still a healthy selection, with an offer thats hard to ignore. Buy 2 get the 3rd one free, and obviously the cheapest one is free. this isn't the 6.99 deal this is for all the books. So its a chance to get some of the more expensive manga and not feel too bad about it. ^^'

I don't care much about the manga, but what about the American selection? Any good deals there?

Forbidden Planet's closing down!?!  NO!!!  It is my second main source of manga (second only to Waterstones).  I noticed the "3 for 2" manga deal but thought nothing of it.  I suppose it does make sense.  They used to have a "3 for £15" deal - I thought there might have been a drop in sales since they scrapped that deal and so offered a new deal.

From where did you hear this dreadful news or is it just a rumour?

If you hadnt noticed there is a large for rent sign above the entrance to Forbidden Planet. A buissness man i know spoke to the agency that runs the lease on the building, and he said that they are not continuing the lease and will leave the property within a week if a buissness wishes to move in before the end of their lease. Forbidden Planet will effectivly just close, there wont be a big closing down sale as stock will be sent to other FP stores in the UK.
